A native of Mexico, where he majored in Bilingual Education and Marketing, Armando DeLeon IV moved to Houston from Monterrey in 1987. He quickly got to know his adopted hometown, particularly the close-in neighborhoods on either side of the West Loop 610 – the Galleria/Memorial area (where he lives) as well as the Tanglewood, Heights, Garden Oaks and Bellaire neighborhoods.
Before becoming a licensed Realtor, Armando worked in the automotive business for DeMontrond Motors, where, within a year, he’d become one of their Finance and Daily Managers, and also worked to increase sales.
"Learning to sell in the car business opens your eyes to the importance of presentation and marketing. The way things are presented to the customer greatly influence how they see them. Different marketing techniques bring different results, and often help open the customer up to possibilities they might not normally consider," he says. “I have found that these same principles apply to the selling or purchase of a home.”
Following the best career advice he ever received: “Be yourself, and the rest will fall into place,” Armando’s transition into residential real estate was influenced by his own life experiences. "Real estate has always been an interesting area for me," he says. "The experience of relocating not only from another city, but also another country, had a big impact upon me and made me appreciate the value of finding the perfect home. That’s a feeling I enjoy sharing with my clients."
Clients praise Armando for his calm nature, levelheadedness and problem-solving skills. He excels at developing creative new ways to sell and genuinely enjoys meeting new people. A man of integrity and a good negotiator, he keeps his clients’ needs and interests at the forefront of his work. He believes that loyalty to his clients is essential.
Outside of work, Armando enjoys hunting, fishing and golfing. He is a member of the Houston Safari Club, Dallas Safari Club, Safari Club International, and National Rifle Association, organizations with which he became involved due to his passion for the outdoors. "Being able to attend their events, particularly the international ones, helps me meet people and learn about cultures from all over the world." Armando also enjoys flying and has held his private pilot's license for several years.
